Coin Acceptors

ShurVend offers the choice of three different coin acceptors, Conlux, Mars and Coinco. This is made possible by use of the "MDB" (Multi-Drop Bus) vending industry standard which allows you to "mix and match". Contact us for current pricing.

Conlux 5 Tube (standard)

The Conlux 5 Tube is the new standard coin acceptor installed in the vendor. Both acceptors take nickels, dimes, quarters, the Susan B., and the new Golden Eagle dollar coins. The Conlux will stack dollar coins in a tube as well as 2 quarter tubes, nickel, and dime to give change. This configuration is called $,Q,Q,N,D when specifying which cassette you want in this acceptor. Both of these acceptors can be programmed to take U.S. only, Canadian only, or both U.S./Canadian. When set for Canadian, this acceptor will take the Loonie and the Twoonie.

Coinco 4 Tube

The Coinco 4 Tube is the new standard for accepting high security "$1 tokens" in the ShurVend machine. This new acceptor will stack $1 tokens and $1 coins in the dollar tube and dispense $1 tokens or $1 coins as change to the customer depending on what is in the tube. Programming has to be done by a Coinco service center.

Mars 5 Tube

The latest new technology is the Token Acceptance Using Mars Acceptors: You can accept high security tokens in the vendor. We now recommend a new Mars changer that accepts $1, 25, 10, 5 coins (both US and Canadian) and can be programmed in the field to accept up to 6 tokens at 6 different values.

A word of reality to those who want to accept tokens; if you "sweeten" the number of tokens that you dispense out of your coin changer, it will not take long for people to learn that they can get "real" money for the extra tokens that you dispense from your bill changer. Our recommendation is that you DO NOT give extra tokens in your bill changer.
