The Concrete Pad for Vendor and Cage

If you need to construct a concrete pad for the cage and vendor, we recommend that the cage be secured to a 4-6 inch concrete pad that is at least 12 inches wider and deeper than the cage size you wish to install. This allows a minimum 6 inches all the way around the cage to support the concrete bolts that secure the cage and 6 inches for water drainage away from the cage. The area of the pad that holds the cage should be level and the outer 6 inches of concrete should slope away from this area for water drainage.

If you are going to install the cage and vendor against a wall or on an existing concrete surface, be aware that there probably some slope to the concrete surface so the front of the cage may have to be "shimmed" to make it vertical. There is an angle iron across the bottom of the cage that helps secure the cage's integrity. With this angle iron in place and using the pre-drilled 1/2-inch holes in the angle iron on both sides as guides, drill 3/8-inch holes in the concrete, shim up the cage with the enclosed flat washers when necessary, and then install the concrete bolts. Loosen the bolts that hold the angle iron in place and take it out. You can then insert the vendor into the cage into its proper place. You may be able to reinstall the angle iron into the cage so that the door closure spacing will be maintained for easy access to the vendor.

If you have heating coils in your concrete and can not drill into the concrete pad safely, then we will provide leveling legs for the cage support on the concrete pad. You can then drill holes in the rear angle iron of the cage to attach the cage to your block wall.

We do not recommend that you try to secure the cage and machine on an asphalt surface. There is not enough strength in asphalt to support the bolts that secure the cage.
