Vendor with Sensit II Electronics Installation
Thank you for your purchase of the ShurVend
vending machine. To make the installation of your new vendor as easy as
possible, we are going to outline the procedures to use to set up the
machine as quickly as possible. This vendor is equipped with the new Sensit
II electronics that operates much better and is very user friendly.
-
Unwrap the packing materials from your "package" and check
for any damage of any kind to the machine.
-
By pushing the bottom access door in, you can retrieve the extra
set of keys for the vending machine door. Be aware that some products
from your starter kit may have fallen during transport and will also
be in the drop box. The product can be reinstalled at any time.
-
Inside the vendor at the bottom of the machine you will find the
equipment manuals, extra motors, dividers, helixes, candy bar pushers,
extra pricing labels, power cord and shipping cartons for the coin
acceptor and bill validator. Save the cartons for use when the bill
validator or coin acceptor needs to be repaired at a service center.
-
Plug the machine into your power source. The display should be going
through its start-up routine and then begin scrolling. We have programmed
it to read "Deposit Money and Make a Selection". If you
want a different message consult the Operation and Service Manual.
-
On the inside of the door near the hinges, you will see smaller service
doors that enclose the computer board, the bill validator, the coin
acceptor and the coin box. Familiarize yourself with these components.
Verify that all plugs are completely in their sockets and have not
come loose during transportation.
-
The top service door is equipped with a lock that is visible. The
bottom service door is not secured with a visible outside lock. However
the cash box inside the door is secured with a lock located above
the handle This is done so you can have one of your employees fill
the machine, but not have access to the money.
-
The computer board is at the top on the inside of these doors. An
inch from the bottom of the board and on the edge of the board closest
to you, you will see a small brown button. This is the "mode"
switch to do programming on the machine. A diagram of the Control
Board is on page 3.1 of the Operation and Service Manual. The machine
is already programmed to your specifications per your Order Form.
-
The coin acceptor must have coins in it (about half full) before
the bill validator will accept bills. The following procedure needs
to be done. Go into "mode", press the # button again and
toggle down to "FILL/DISPENSE". The coin acceptor is programmed
to keep the coin tubes accepting coins until full before letting coins
drop into the coin box. Fill the coin tubes through the coin slot
with quarters, dimes and nickels. The control board counts the coins
in each denomination and displays the number on the LED. The quarters
will fill one of the two-quarter tubes in the acceptor; you will have
to fill the other quarter tube from the back of the acceptor if you
want to use the vendor for making change. Once the money starts coming
out the coin return you will know that the tubes are full.
-
If you wish to keep track of the number of vends and the amount
of money the machine does during a week/month, then put the machine
into the "mode" status, toggle down to ACCOUNTING DATA.
Follow the procedures as outlined in the Service Manual in Section
6-1.
-
Install any of the products that have fallen out during shipping.
Check all of the helixes to see that all of the products are straight.
If you purchased a Starter Kit many of the products were installed
for shipping and should have two empty slots in front of them. This
was done to eliminate too many products from dropping during shipment.
Usually you just have to move the product from the back of the column
to the front slot. If YOU PURCHASED THE STARTER KIT, YOU ARE NOW OPEN
FOR BUSINESS!!
-
THE CLEANING AND CARE OF THE LEXAN FRONT. As tough as Lexan is for
security of the vending products and the machine, it has a very soft
surface with regard to scratches and the "fogging up" from
these scratches. DO NOT USE ANY AMMONIA COMPOUNDS, WINDEX, OR GLASS
CLEANERS ON LEXAN. USE A MILD SOAP AND WATER SOLUTION, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL
FOR GREASE, OR A LIQUID WAX LIKE "CARNUBA". USE A TERRY
CLOTH TOWEL THAT IS CLEAN FROM BEING WASHED AND HAS NEVER BEEN USED
BEFORE. ANY DIRT THAT IS ON THE CLOTH CAN SCRATCH THE SURFACE OF LEXAN.
-
Your machine has the new 1/8-inch acrylic plastic sheet that is
installed facing the customer to help decrease the scratches and abrasions
that people seem to want to try on the windows in the vendor. It has
a much "harder" surface than Lexan, so it should be easier
to keep clean in the machine. Behind this acrylic is the usual 3/8-inch
Lexan for security of the machine. If the outside of the window does
get "foggy" or badly scratched, you can replace the acrylic
for $25-$30 versus the $175 for the Lexan.
-
You find four (4) brackets (with out a cage) that are designed to
fit around the leveling legs to hold the machine in place so it cannot
be shaken or moved. These "hook" over the leveling legs
and are secured to your concrete pad with the enclosed concrete bolts.
These brackets should be installed as "mirror" images of
each other to keep the machine in place. The concrete bolts should
be welded after installation so no one can remove them.
With any new machine it is best for you to vend some products out before
opening up to the public. Test vend the products by closing the door,
securing it, and vending the items into the drop box. The products need
to drop through the Sensit devices at the top of the drop box to activate
the system. Make sure the bill acceptor takes $1 and $5 (both old and
new), the coin acceptor accepts coins and that the machine gives the correct
change. Even misload a row so that you can see that the Sensit device
is working.
On the right side of the machine under the bottom tray is the raised,
plastic fuse holder that protects the control board, etc. and the ON/OFF
switch. Whenever you work on the bill validator, coin acceptor or control
board, turn off the power.
This should make it easier for you to put your new machine into service.
