Visi-Combo Installation
Thank you for your purchase of the ShurVend Visi-Combo vending machine. This vendor is equipped with the new Sensit
II electronics that operates much better and is very user friendly. You
should have already installed the SecurVend Security Cabinet, Stainless
faceplate or "Niche" door before you set-up this machine. To
make the installation of your Visi-Combo as easy as possible, we are going
to outline the procedures to use to set up the machine.
-
Unwrap the packing materials from your "package" and check
for any damage of any kind to the machine.
-
By pushing the bottom access door in, you can retrieve a set of
keys for the vending machine door. Be aware that some products from
your starter kit may have fallen during transport and will also be
in the drop box. The product can be reinstalled at any time.
-
On top of the machine in a separate box or wrapped in bubble wrap
and a box in the security structure, you should have found the equipment
manuals, extra motors, dividers, helixes, candy bar pushers, extra
pricing labels, and power cord.
-
Plug the machine into your power source. The display should be going
through its start-up routine and then begin scrolling. We have programmed
it to read "Deposit Money and Make a Selection" in English
and in Spanish if requested.
-
On the inside of the door near the hinges, you will see smaller service
doors that enclose the computer board, the bill validator, the coin
acceptor and the coin box. Familiarize yourself with these components.
Verify that all plugs are completely in their sockets and have not
come loose during transportation.
-
The computer board is at the top on the inside of these doors. An
inch from the bottom of the board and on the edge of the board closest
to you, you will see a small brown button. This is the "mode"
switch to do programming on the machine. The new Sensit II system
will lead you through the programming by scrolling messages on the
display; you only need to make choices. The machine is already programmed
to your specifications per your Order.
-
The coin acceptor must have coins in it (about half full) before
the bill validator will accept bills. The following procedure needs
to be done. Go into "mode", press the # button again and
toggle down to "FILL/DISPENSE". The coin acceptor is programmed
to keep the coin tubes accepting coins until full before letting coins
drop into the coin box. Fill the coin tubes through the coin slot
with quarters, dimes and nickels. The control board counts the coins
in each denomination and displays the number on the LED. The quarters
will fill one of the two-quarter tubes in the acceptor; you will have
to fill the other quarter tube from the back of the acceptor if you
want to use the vendor for making change. Once the money starts coming
out the coin return you will know that the tubes are full.
-
Install any of the products that have fallen out during shipping.
Check all of the helixes to see that all of the products are straight.
If you purchased a Starter Kit many of the products were installed
for shipping and should have two empty slots in front of them. This
was done to eliminate too many products from dropping during shipment.
Usually you just have to move the product from the back of the column
to the front slot.
-
If you wish to keep track of the number of vends and the amount
of money the machine does during a week/month, then put the machine
into the "mode" status, toggle down to ACCOUNTING DATA.
Follow the procedures as outlined in the Service Manual in Section
6-1.
-
There is feature in the Visi-Combo drop box that the other ShurVend vendors do not have. A sensor is installed in the bottom of the drop
box to keep the customer from vending a glass bottle on top of another
glass bottle. With the new Sensit II electronics in this vendor, we
normally turn this feature off as part of our set-up since very few
operators vend glass. If you decide to vend glass, then you can turn
this feature on by putting the vendor in "mode" and toggling
through the program.
With any new machine it is best for you to vend some products before
opening up to the public. Test vend the products by closing the door,
securing it, and vending the items into the drop box. The products need
to drop through the Sensit devices at the top of the drop box to activate
the system. Make sure the bill acceptor takes $1 and $5 (both old and
new), the coin acceptor accepts coins and that the machine gives the correct
change. Even misload a row so that you can see that the Sensit device
is working.
On the right side of the machine under the bottom tray is the raised,
plastic fuse holder that protects the control board, etc. and an ON/OFF
switch . Whenever you work on the bill validator, coin acceptor or control
board, turn the machine off.
This should make it easier for you to put your new machine into service.
